NEC Licence Exam Day: Checklist and Last-Minute Tips

You've done the hard work; exam day is about protecting it. A little planning turns a stressful morning into a controlled routine, and that composure shows up in your score.
The night before
Stop learning new material — it only breeds anxiety. Do a light pass over your highest-yield chapters, pack your documents, and prioritise sleep over one more hour of revision.
Pack this the night before
- Admit card and a valid photo ID.
- Permitted stationery and a watch.
- Directions to the centre and a plan to arrive early.

During the exam
Do a quick pass answering everything you know immediately, flagging the rest. This banks easy marks first and leaves the maximum time for hard questions. Keep an eye on the clock and never let one question dominate.
If you get stuck
Eliminate the clearly wrong options and make your best choice — a reasoned guess beats a blank. Then move on and come back only if time allows.
Stay calm and finish strong
Slow, steady breathing resets your focus far better than panic. Trust your preparation, work the paper methodically, and use every remaining minute to review your flagged questions.
